Let's light up
the Negrelli Viaduct

The first of the reconstructed arches of the Negrelli Viaduct will open to the public. As part of this year's Designblok, the TY O studio will present a collection of lighting fixtures here. The reconstructed arch No. 036 at the corner of Sokolovská and První pluk streets will be accessible from October 2 to 6. In the multifunctional space, TY O will present lamps from the nun collection, lamps with a unique design solution. Did you think that there was nothing left to invent about a classic lamp with a lampshade? Then definitely come to arch No. 036.

Classic
reinvented

The classic lamp with a lampshade represents the most common light design through the centuries. However, the nun lamp collection wouldn't want to be just another variation of a classic solution. The innovative design of the nun lampshade doesn't rely on an internal wire structure. This allows for a whole new creative approach.
The lampshade itself holds without any visible support. This is possible thanks to its  elegant attachment in a thin groove milled into the structure.

Precision
manufacturing and design

The entire construction of the nun lamps looks extremely simple at first glance, but only as a result of technically demanding process of forming a thin steel tube. This is first worked using a laser and then bent to precise angles on a digitally controlled machine. Without the exact precision of digital machining, this design could not have been created at all. 21 separate production operations lead to a simple, 15-degree angled line of lamps.
Nun comes in three sizes and number of colour variants. The basic design is in natural brushed stainless steel, or electroplated copper or brass. Other variants are painted in colors according to the RAL swatch.

Lamps are designed and carefully manufactured in the Czech Republic.
